Ubisoft’s upcoming pirate game, Skull and Bones, seems to have hit another bump in its development with the departure of the studio’s managing director. According to Kotaku, an internal company email was sent out at Ubisoft explaining the removal of managing director Hugues Ricour as a result of a “leadership audit”.
“Effective immediately, Hugues Ricour is no longer Managing Director of Ubisoft Singapore,” reads the internal email, according to Kotaku. “The results of the leadership audit that was conducted in the last few weeks by our external partners makes it impossible for him to continue in this position.”
Skull and Bones has had quite a rocky development, including a number of internal delays. The game was originally shown off a few years ago, but we haven’t seen much progress about the game since then. We do, however, know that Skull and Bones is supposed to be a pirate game inspired by the widely-celebrated naval combat from Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.
